Berdasarkan hasil penelusuran, adanya foto yang memperlihatkan Paus Fransiskus membawa salib yang terdapat patung dengan wajah Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) merupakan konten yang dimanipulasi.
Faktanya, foto itu merupakan foto hasil editan atau suntingan. Foto aslinya adalah foto saat Paus Fransiskus memimpin kebaktian Jumat Agung atau memperingati penyiksaan Yesus sebelum disalib di Basilika Santo Petrus, Vatikan, Jumat (19/4/2019).
